I'm still a happy user of pyqscore, a python script that generates the daily and monthly OpenArena stats for this server. I was recently informed that pyqscore got a new homepage and it is now available at http://sourceforge.net/projects/pyqscore/. I'm still using my own version (don't touch a running script) but whoever might be interested in setting up an OpenArena server with stats should take a look at the latest release.
My own slightly modified version of pyqscore is still available at http://dl.linuxiuvat.de/oa/.
